DAYTONA BEACH CHURCH PLANTING UPDATE
Dear Brothers in Christ,
Over the past 3 months we have visited 9 amazing Florida Churches/Regions speaking and sharing about the Daytona Planting. The excerpt below summarizes the guiding force of our planting philosophy:
(From the Introduction of "Spin-Off Churches" by Harrison,Cheyney & Overstreet)
"It should not go without saying that the process of church planting is predicated on much prayer. Unless the planting strategy is based upon a God-given vision, the new church will never get off the ground. A God-given vision, which assumes quality time with God combined with a sound strategy and a supportive team, is the only effective way to reduce the unchurched population through church planting. A healthy mother-church sponsor and adequate support will help to ensure the new church grows to viability."
1) Quality Time with God
2) Sound Strategy
3) Supportive Team
Julie and I are doing our best for #1 and #2, but it's #3---the Support Team---where we feel the most encouraged and the most grateful. As we've traveled the state, we have continually received more encouragement and support than we could have asked for or imagined. So many words of encouragement. So many great pieces of advice. So many disciples in your churches who came up to us and told us that they had been praying for us.
"Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the saints." (Philemon 1:7)
Thank you so much for refreshing not only Julie and I, but the entire Daytona team as well!
We look forward to celebrating with you at FDC.
Thanks for everything!
-Heath and Julie Barrow

During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.
